Dream Big.Get Started. Do Big.

“It isn’t a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled, BUT it is certainly a calamity not to dream.” Benjamin E. Mays- minister, educator, scholar, social activist and the president of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia from 1940 to 1967 #dreambig #calmitynottodream

As we celebrate Black History Month remember -Inventions, financial empowerment, entrepreneurial success, social changes and social justice can be achieved by those of you who make the bold decision to apply your knowledge, your energy and your talent to humanitarian goals. Think of how those we honor today gave to make a difference for others.
If it is encouraging, let him encourage;
if it is contributing to the needs of others,
let him give generously; if it is leadership,
let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. Romans 12:8 NIV

African American Victory of Spirit- Black Quotations- Persevere- Don’t Quit
“You never know which key unlocks the safe” . Bryant Gumbel, former Morning News Host #persevere
Success is achieved by those willing to persevere beyond the point where the majority stop and turn back. Today is your day.

God has given you talents, gifts and His Word. Take another step closer to your goal. Hold fast to the hope, the Word, to “doing” your dream if God put it there. (Hebrews 10:35-39)

Just think of the entrepreneur’s influence Madam C.J. Walker.Walker, born Sarah Breedlove in 1867 in Louisiana. She is remembered today as the first black self-made female millionaire in the United States. Through hard work and her witty inventions she amassed her fortune by inventing groundbreaking haircare products for women of color. She also implemented strategic marketing skills .

One of Walker’s best known quotes is “I got my start by giving myself a start.” She was born the child of sharecroppers in Louisiana, and her parents died when she was just 7 years old. She worked as a farm laborer and married her first husband when she was just 14 to leave the dangerous home of her brother-in-law. A widow and single mother to a young daughter at 20, she decided to move to Missouri where she worked for less than $2 a day to afford to get her daughter an education. We can gain many insights from this great entrepreneur

Use the gifts and talents God gave you to bless others and to generate wealth. Dream Big . Pray Big. Then begin to take action to accomplish your dream. Write your goals down using the SMART system (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timeline) and set dates to accomplish the plan. Make the call. Develop a team. Start. Make the call. Write the book.

Prayer: Thank you Lord for the gifts and talents you have provided me. Let me use them to your glory and to bless others.  Let me not grow weary in preparing, in toiling to create the witty invention, to have entrepreneur success and to develop systems that will provide solutions to the needs of human kind. Give me favor and the wisdom and strength to persevere. In the name of Jesus.

5 Smart Reasons Why Authors Should Hire a PR Coach Instead of a Publicist

Pam Perry  Publisher | Award-winning Social Media Marketing Strategist | Podcaster

Have you considered hiring a publicist but their fees are way out of your price range?

Do you need a publicist but you’ve heard the horror stories of “I paid my retainers and got nothing?”

Regardless of the fact that this may all be true, at some point people need to know about your business other than by word of mouth. Publicity has served and still today is the best avenue in getting the word out.

My company, Ministry Marketing Solutions, Inc., has done full service PR campaigns for the most well-known Christian publishers and authors in the nation from Bishop TD Jakes, Pastor Bill Winston, Taffi Dollar, Pastor Rudy Rasmus, the late Dr. Myles Monroe and Dr. Suzan Johnson Cook + more but we also teach and mentor authors to be their own publicist – to build their platform, brand their ministry.

In our program, we coach you step by step, exactly how to do your own publicity and branding just like the pros. You actually become the publicist for your book and build your “brand” to get media hits and speaking gigs.

Let’s check out these 5 reasons why you may want to consider

The Branding Accelerator Program:

#1 – Cost This is the number one reason many authors have turned to PR & Brand Building coaching. The usual fees for a publicist range from $2,500-$5,000+ a month, depending on the publicist and the number of hours required to publicize the business or ministry.

#2 – Customized Plan When you work with a PR coach, your publicity plan is customized just for your book/ministry/business, not some template. We give feed back!

#3 – Media Savvy You will learn everything there is to know about the various forms of media and how to get your business or ministry noticed by them. We give you real media contacts and show you how to find your own too. (Unheard of in the industry).

#4 – Online Tips and Tricks You will learn how to leverage twitter, pinterest, facebook, instagram, youtube, blogs, linkedin and more to build your brand and sell more books. Create online relationships that turn into customers and ministry partners. Learning these free online marketing tools will save you thousands of dollars.

#5 – Platform Building In today’s society there is more than just publicity. You can get leads online via social media marketing, speaking, traditional media…we give you a strategy using all three – easily. It’s all about strategy and having the right resources and vendors. That’s what we teach and give to pull it all together.

So as you see, hiring a PR Coach is a great alternative to hiring a publicist or a public relations firm.

For more info go to: www.BrandingAcceleratorProgram.com

to see what others have said about the program’s results!

It is a self-paced program so you don’t have worry if you can’t make the exact date/times – you set your own schedule. The webinars are recorded and delivered to you via a private portal and you have lifetime access! You get the PR Power Pack workbook, templates, resources, real life examples, guest experts from the media industry, and checklists plus worksheets.

How simple is that!?

Give the Gift of Love!

Happy Holidays and Christmas Blessings to all and to your families from my family. Give the gift of Love like  Jesus . May your Christmas be a Day of Love. Give the Gift that keeps on giving… LOVE! Give some and Receive some. Wishing you peace, joy, health, and prosperity this holiday season and a fantastic New Year.
For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
During this Holiday Season of joy , celebration and gathering with family and friends(and really all the year) remember those grieving from loss(divorce, death, rejection, failure) and suffering from illness and depression. Have compassion for the poor and lonely. This time of year is often depressing to many. Pray for them and then—- DO. Give a smile, a hug, an encouraging word, a touch, a donation, feed them, give a gift, visit them, and provide support and resources. We are God’s ambassadors (workmanship) created for good works. (Ephesians 2:10) Put hands and feet on your Love and prayers.

Pray as you give for:

1) Pray for the  hurting( brokenhearted, failure, grieving from loss of death, change relatinship) the helpless ( children, orphans  poor, displaced,  oppressed seniors) , hopeless( lost, and those who feel hopeless defeated) and the homeless  (the lease of these) in your city, community and nation, that God may provide for their needs. Pray for effective humanitarian aid and efforts.

2)Give and do a loving act of Love. Care. Share. Give.  Love. Many find this season of the year even more difficult.  Visit. Donate.  Give a Hug.

3) Pray that families will  show love, forgiveness, and celebrate and enjoy God.

Look to the manger and the resurrection to find God’s gifts for you. Love, Life, Faith, Peace, Joy, Power, Favor, VICTORY!

Thank God Always

Thank God Always (Days 26-30)

I hope you enjoyed Thanksgiving Day celebration with family and friends. You have much to thank God for. Think about it and then thank the Lord.

God’s command is “In every thing give thanks”; and the command is emphasized by the declaration, “for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1 Thess. 5:18, KJV). It is an actual positive command. If we want to obey God, we have simply got to give thanks in everything. There is no getting around it.

Sometimes we have to Hallelujah anyway! What does that mean? We must believe God is blessing us always, and we must be thankful at all times.  Instead of blaming God and complaining when things go wrong, thank God anyway. Believe that God will turn a tragedy into a triumph. It does not mean you understand the occurrence, don’t hurt and that you don’t cry. It means you will still have a thankful heart and praise the Lord.

O give thanks unto the Lord! Call upon His name; make known his deeds among the people!(1 Chronicle16:8-10) No matter what the circumstance give thanks that you have a prayer hearing God, that has unfamthonable love for and that you are more than a conqueror.

Excerpt for Dead Lions Don’t Roar

A motivating and inspiring book of poetry should always leave the reader with thoughts about personal development and doses of inspiration … and that is exactly what Dead Lions Don’t Roar does. Whilst the poem entitled the name of the collection speaks volumes about using our gifts and talent and finding our own unique roar, there are a number of other poems that share the essence of the book. Here is a sneak peak of one such poem:

If Men were God

There would be no more us,

Long Dead and buried,

Forgotten with the times,

An atonement for our sins

If men were God….

This poem makes us think about what each of our individual role and purpose is in life, which will then motivate us to achieve…our very best. This is the entire purpose of Dead Lion’s Don’t Roar.

About The Book

Dead Dogs Don’t Bark is the second poetry collection from the acclaimed author, Tolu A. Akinyemi. With a similar tone and style to Dead Lions Don’t Roar (Tolu’s first poetry collection) this follow up masterpiece is nothing short of pure motivation. The poems cover a range of topics that many in life are aware of, that the Author himself has experienced and that we all, whatever our age, need support in. Beautifully written, the poems speak volumes to all age groups as they feature finding your inner talent, celebrating your individuality and distinct voice. The poetry collection has didactic elements for evaporating the effects of peer pressure and criminality amongst many others. Also covering mental health, relationships, career focus, and general life issues, the poetry is bitter sweet, amusing and thought provoking in turns.

Excerpt for Dead Dogs Don’t Bark

A follow on to the success of Dead Lions Don’t Roar, Dead Dogs Don’t Bark goes one step further. As well as self-motivation, Dead Dogs Don’t Bark digs deep into society, into behavior and into relationships that make existence worthwhile. An insight into the true power of the collection rings strong in the following snippet:

Cuddle up to Excellence

Else Mediocrity can catch up with you like a heatwave

Released in full force like a loaf oven baked

The days of long service awards are over

If your dream is to buy a Range Rover

Then you have to embrace excellence

This poem reinforces that it is healthy to have dreams and ambitions but that we must remember to strive for them and not just expect them … not taking things for granted and putting your best foot forward in life encapsulates the resonating theme of Dead Dogs Don’t Bark.

A Season of Thankfulness

This month November Think and Thank the Lord for his many blessings. We have been on bragging on God for 14 days now. During this 30 Day Season of Thankfulness, Brag on God for 30 days of thanks. Everyday give thanks. Of course we should always give thanks unto the Lord. Of course we should have grateful hearts all the time. Giving thanks is remembering what the Lord has done for you and to you, your family and the community. Praise is honoring the Lord for who He is – the Lord of Lords, the everlasting King.

We should have thankful hearts for the great things God has done in our lives.  In Psalm 107 some verses state:

“O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever”. Psalm 107:1

“Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness and loving-kindness and His wonderful works to the children of men! Ps. 107:21

“And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving and rehearse His deeds with shouts of joy and singing! Ps 107: 22

Remember to give thanks unto the Lord for all that He has done. Thank God for his timing and faithfulness in provision. Thank God for His peace. Think about His goodness to you and how He has allowed you to see another day .He has protected you from dangers seen and unseen. He has….

Begin to think and thank the Lord. Think and meditate on his loving kindness to you.  Then begin to thank God and brag on Him.

A Season of Thankfulness: Brag on God
Day 14: Brag on God. Think and Thank. Think of how the Lord worked things out. Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His love endures forever. Psalm 136.1 #thankful #bragonGod
What do you have to be thankful for? This month and everyday praise and thank the Lord for His daily benefits. How many of you know that it was God who “did this or that” for you.? Say thank you

Day 15- Be Grateful. Brag on God with a grateful heart. Be grateful, thankful and know, walk and talk like you are blessed.
Think about the grace of God in your life.
So much to be grateful for (in spite of the violence in this world)
O give thanks unto the Lord! Call upon His name; make known his deeds among the people! (1 Chronicle16:8-10) #BragonGod

Day 17

Season of Thankfulness- Brag on God series. Think and Thank
Day 17- Brag on God and be Grateful. Tell Him how grateful and thankful you are. Think of His grace and greatness. Now let Him know you are grateful.
Walter Hawkins Lyrics from Be Grateful
(Be-e-e-e-e-e Grateful) Grateful
(Be-e-e-e-e-e Grateful) Be Grateful
Because there’s someone else who’s worse off than you
Be Grateful (Be Grateful)
Because there’s someone else who’d love to be in your shoes
Be Grateful ( Be Grateful)
Oh yeah!
My God said he’d never, never forsake you!
Be Grateful (Be Grateful) oh yeah!
God said he would, he would never, never forsake you!
Be Grateful (Be Grateful) oh yeah!
Be Grateful Hallelujah!
Oh! Be Grateful

10 Tips to Build Your Self-Confidence so You can Manifest Your Ideal Client

10 Tips to Build Your Self-Confidence so You can Manifest Your Ideal Client and Collect with Confidence

It’s all about energy, attitude and consistency. These ten tips will help you magnetically draw clients to you and make you happy in the process:

  1. Use Music

One of the simplest tricks for helping yourself to both take action and feel more confident: Creating your own inspiring musical playlist, and playing it whenever appropriate. (Athletes know this secret and use music all the time, while training at the gym.)

Just as sad music in minor keys can help us process feelings when life deals blows like relationship breakups, so can energizing music or inspiring music actually raise our confidence level to the point where we take action.

Choose your own favorite “theme song.” It will automatically boost your confidence whenever you hear it.

Here’s one of my theme songs:

It’s by Mary J. Blige- Just Fine

<iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/G6ZjBPXSmnE” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture” allowfullscreen></iframe><iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/G6ZjBPXSmnE” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture” allowfullscreen></iframe>

  1. Dress for Success

This doesn’t mean putting on a formal business suit. It does mean dressing in a way that boosts your self-confidence and makes you feel good about yourself.

Don’t try to copy your ideal client or niche influencer unless that’s a look you totally relate to. It’s more important to dress in a way that makes you feel you have already achieved your top goal.  If you see yourself with gypsy-style earrings and Afrocentric skirts in many colors and layers, go for it. If you see yourself as edgy and trendy, go for it. If you see yourself in a red coat, wear that!  And take note of how it makes you feel, when you dress for success.

Change your hairstyle. Buy those shoes you’ve been wistfully drooling over. Don’t worry about what other people think. Wearing what makes you feel successful and confident will attract the right client—for you.

  1. Make On-going Learning Part of Your Business Life

Knowing you are ahead of your peers (and abreast of top influencers) in the latest changes, improvements or information in your field is another good way to automatically boost your confidence. Sign up for our Virtual Conference, here.

Take innovative courses, attend lectures, keep your certifications updated or upgraded, and subscribe to—and read—industry journals, in order to keep ahead of the pack and provide your clients with the best service. Proactively do primary research yourself. Contact organizations, companies and experts. That way, you won’t just be following top influencers: You’ll BE one.

  1. Start Small

Do you have a big change to make? Don’t wait for the “right time”—start small. For example, if you want a new office but can’t afford it, try buying a new piece of furniture or an accessory for your office that will make your life easier—like a bookshelf; or even just a shelf. Or a new lamp, to reduce the chronic eyestrain you suffer. Or even just some flowers because you deserve them!

When you start to surround yourself with things that signify success or make life easier, you are sending yourself a strong message – “I CAN have this in my life! I deserve this!”

  1. Make Confidence a Habit

Contrary to what others might think, no one is born with supreme self-confidence. It has to be learned. And it CAN be learned.

So consciously work on changing your habits. Take actions you need to take, change negative self-talk to realistic and more positive talk, and actively adopt the attitude of what you define as a successful person.

Confidence is not only for the few who “succeed.” Anyone can have it—all you have to do is make it a habit.

  1. Practice Makes Perfect

My number one way to walk in confidence is to be prepared – or over prepared if necessary. There is nothing better for increasing confidence than knowing you are absolutely ready to give that speech, approach that media personality or promote your book.

So read over the notes or listen to the recording you made for that new client’s free consultation, in plenty of time for their first appointment. Write down what you need to accomplish before tackling some event or project or task that makes you nervous. Make sure you try everything out in advance.

Practice that speech (many times!) Practice using that new webinar software. Anticipate questions. Make sure you have everything you need assembled and ready to go.

Being prepared is the best way to step out in genuine confidence. You will avoid that “imposter syndrome” that tries to kill your confidence.

  1. Do It until It’s a Yawn

Does phoning people to ask for interview opportunities terrify you? Remember that doing it once is only an ice-breaker. Once you’ve done it, the next one is easier (even if only marginally)—but if you don’t get straight back on the horse, the effect will wane.

Resist the urge to make just one phone call, or send one custom email, or approach one person at a conference. Set a goal of reaching ten, or twenty, or even fifty (if there are enough people to converse with). Sure, it’s a great breakthrough if you do something like pitch the media or do a book-signing for the first time—but the way to REALLY start enjoying these activities is to do it again and again, until you feel confident and sure of yourself.

  1. Realize Your Clients Need—and Want—Your Coaching

Instead of expending energy trying to attract new clients, focus on the ones you already have. They already trust you. They have “bought” from you and they are still coming back for more.

Make sure you meet and exceed their expectations. Be proactive. Anticipate their needs at the next level. Provide aides, extras and resources at the right time. Go over their notes, think about them. Empathize with their problems and dreams.

If you do this—if you treat your existing clients as if they are diamonds—you will automatically attract the same type of client who already wants your services.

  1. Know Your Own Value

The most confident people are those who know their own worth: What their time is worth, what their life experience and expertise is worth and what their services are worth.

Track your time. Look over your achievements and credentials. Read your client testimonials and emails. Identify the area where you help people make the biggest shifts.

Realizing how truly unique and valuable you are to clients can give you the confidence to set a realistic and healthy value on your services… so you can stop over-delivering and under-charging, and have the confidence to know you deserve your fees.

  1. Take Action

Speaking of small steps, one of the best you can take for yourself is to stop thinking and “just do it”—whatever “it” is.

Thinking leads to over-thinking, which leads to procrastination, which leads to a loss of self-worth. So be the person who takes action when others are still tossing around possible solutions.

Taking action is empowering. So, give your clients the best example, and be that “action person” they look up to, and admire. Tidy your desk. Send that email. Make those phone calls. Feel accomplished and gain momentum – and you’ll collect with confidence.

So Vote and Pray!

The Election 2018, November 6,  2018  is 7 days away! So Pray and vote! Want to stop the racist tactic of gerrymandering ? So vote! Don’t want medical marijuana dispensaries or recreational drugs in your neighborhood where the owners don’t live in or would not allow into their neighborhoods? So vote!

Many hearts have been troubled, angered and disappointed with all that we have seen and heard on the news and in our community and nation this election year. Yet you must not let the enemy deter you from voting. God established government. He told us to pray for those in authority, 1 Timothy 2:2 and arguably to pray for those who seek  to rule over you. Pray and vote. Trust in the Lord and seek his wisdom and discernment for whom to cast your vote . Pray then vote.  Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.” –John 14:1

I challenge to encourage everyone to vote  and help get the elderly, youth and those without transportation to the polls.

It is imperative the we pray for and then vote in the 2018 local and state elections. We want to make wise decisions. However, we must pray for our cities local elections. Yes our hope and trust is not in the election but in God. But God states in  Jeremiah 29:7-” Seek peace and well-being for the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf; for in its peace (well-being) you will have peace”. Yes, pray and vote.  We need peace , effective social  and economic  services , a good educational system , and  to stop the violence that plagues our cities.

The Bible tells us to pray for those in authority over us and are in leadership. 1 Timothy 2: 1-2. This includes those who are seeking position in leadership. Throughout the Bible we see that when men and women of integrity were chosen by God’s standards the people and the nation fared well , were delivered out of adverse circumstances or diverted evil. “Righteousness exalts a nation..” The selection of leaders according to God’s leading and not out of racism and favoritism , can bring great blessing to a nation, city and state.

Pray:

Pray that people will vote with integrity and wisdom devoid of racism.
Pray that the attempts at election fraud or to stop minorities from voting by political schemes is thwarted and void.
Pray for divine order.

  • Pray for the election process- integrity, against voter suppression and racist tactics.
    • Pray for honest, compassionate, and concerned  for the poor  leaders. Pray for wise leaders with integrity will arise.
  • Pray for the judges of this nation, that they would seek the wisdom that comes from above.
    • Pray for the salvation of local government leaders.
    • Pray for the salvation of national government leaders

Pray for wisdom to vote for those who will provide a just government and not a government that exists to serve and profit itself.

.

Cry Out!

Remember we are God’s ambassador’s and we should take righteous action to carry out His purposes in the earth for the protection of the  poor, oppressed and hurting. God is concerned about government and nations, especially as they relate to issues of justice and oppression of their own people and obeying His Word.  We as a nation, even the church or the body of Christ have allowed our prejudices, racism and hatreds to divide us. We have tolerated and justified unjust and evil conduct from government and business leaders, and even in the church!

As God’s  ambassadors, we must believe God ‘s Word.  “‘Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.” –Jeremiah 33:6 We need the healing that only God can provide.

So Get out and vote!

Linda Fegins, The Prayer Leader.
