Social rights activist, Savannah Elliott, has made a fresh start in Washington, D.C., but a routine consultation on a D.C. Human Rights case brings her face to face with a terror from her past.
As Will and Savannah struggle to solve the case, they are forced to face choices, some they’ve buried for years. Will their decisions, past and present, bring them love and safety or will they lose everything, including their lives?

Book Review

More and more it is coming to light the thousands of young women from other countries who are brought to the United States by trick or force to serve in  human trafficking , i.e. the sex slave trade. “Captured”, novelist Terri J Haynes’, suspense story opens your eyes to the plight of those caught in the bondage of human trafficking while showing how two persons with baggage from the past can find love in the midst of a negative situation. Both of the two leading characters, who have compassion for others, Savannah Elliott and Will Anderson, lives are endangered by the desire to help victims of the sex slave trade from their respective professions, social advocate and FBI Agent.

Crisp writing, engaging characters and suspense will keep you “captured” to determine what will happen next and how the story will end.

Meet Terri

Terri J. Haynes, a native Baltimorean, is a homeschool mom, writer, prolific knitter, freelance graphic artist and former Army wife (left the Army, not the husband). She loves to read, so much that when she was in elementary school, she masterminded a plan to be locked in a public library armed with only a flashlight to read all the books and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. As she grew, her love for writing grew as she tried her hand at poetry, articles, speeches and fiction. She is storyteller at heart. Her passion is to draw readers in the story world she has created and to bring laughter and joy to their lives.

Terri is a 2010 American Christian Fiction Writers Genesis contest finalist, and a 2012 semi-finalist. She is also a 2013 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Quarterfinalist. Her publishing credits include Cup of Comfort for Military Families, Crosswalk.com, the Secret Place Devotional, Urbanfaith.com, Vista Devotional, and Publisher’s Weekly.

Terri holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, a Master’s degree in Theological Studies and a certificate in creative writing and graphic design, meeting the minimal requirements of being a geek. She and her husband pastor a church where she serves as executive pastor and worship leader. Terri lives in Maryland with her three wonderful children and her husband, who often beg her not to kill of their favorite characters.

About the Book

Widowed and officially retired, EUGEENA PATTERSON throws herself into organizing the neighborhood association. This presents a great opportunity to re-connect with old friends and get to know new neighbors like recently widowed Amos Jones, that is until Eugeena stumbles upon her estranged neighbor’s dead body. Eugeena’s daughter is fingered as a prime suspect, but where is she?

Determined to find her missing daughter, Eugeena and Amos sort through a list of neighbors with shady or unknown backgrounds. The more she searches, the more Eugeena becomes unsure about this neighborhood association idea. Someone closer than Eugeena thinks, wants to keep it that way.

Fegins’ report: Tyora Moody has created another intriguing murder mystery of who don’it, mixed with a rising love interest, a need for forgiveness of the past and to practice faith in the Lord. I enjoyed the book so much so that I have recommended this book to my Book Ministry to read. This is the first time that I missed the clues that lead to the murder.

My only concern is about Chris, Eugeena’s daughter’s boyfriend. We are told that he hit her daughter, but we don’t see the follow up of this my Eugeena or her daughter. I only hear the daughter state”he is not a bad guy”. In my mind a 6’4 man who hits your daughter is not a good guy. I wanted to see that explained or Eugeena to address this issue with her daughter.
